Join us for our Whitewater Kayaking Summer Series. Clinics & Courses will be taught at different river venues throughout Utah. Our Introduction to Whitewater Clinics & Beginner Whitewater Kayak programs will take students through the basics of equipment, self-rescue, flat-water techniques, and foundational strokes & paddling skills. Our 101 Intro courses will book with 3 or more students. We will provide essential gear for courses; kayak, helmet, life-vest, paddle, & skirt. Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes in the river and we recommend wet suit or dry suit during course. We can help with rental options on these if needed.

Intro to Kayaking
1 Day course to give you a taste of whitewater.
This course is for anyone looking to get a taste of whitewater kayaking, this one day course is half day on flat water and half day on moving water. 3 participant minimum.
2 Day 101 Course
Designed to teach the basics, safely & efficiently!
Interested in learning to whitewater kayak? This beginner 2-day course based in central Utah will introduce you to the excitement of being a whitewater kayaker in a safe and supportive environment. Each day will be spent learning paddling skills on the water, we will start with flat-water basics and progress through class II water. The course will cover river equipment, paddling skills, basic river hydrology, and river safety. 3 participant minimum.
2 Day Overnight Adventure
2 Day 1 Night Adventure
Are you interested in whitewater kayaking? This beginner 2-day course based on the Green River in north eastern Utah will introduce you to the excitement of being a whitewater kayaker in a safe and supportive environment. Each day will be spent learning paddling skills on the water, we will start with flat-water basics and progress through class II water on the incredible clear waters of the Green River. The course will cover the basics of whitewater river equipment, paddling skills, basic river hydrology, and river safety. Our learning doesn’t end on the water, after dinner we will continue workshopping around the fire as we prepare for another magical day of kayaking to follow!
Participants will be expected to bring appropriate river attire, sleeping gear, (tent/sleeping pad/bag) and transportation to and from the venue, Dutch John, Utah.

Looking to take it one step further? This beginner 3-day course based in central Utah will introduce you to the excitement of being a whitewater kayaker in a safe and supportive environment. Each day will be spent learning paddling skills on the water, we will start with flat-water basics and progress through class II water. We will spend more time working through the dynamics of the river roll in this course. The course will cover river equipment, paddling skills, basic river hydrology, and river safety. 3 participant minimum.

Women’s Whitewater 101
This course mirrors the 2 day 101 course but is women-specific. You’ll learn all the fundamental skills needed and you’ll be surrounded by that incredible energy that happens when women get together and charge.
Learn to Pack Raft
A great way to get out and enjoy the river
This course is for anyone looking to get a taste of whitewater kayaking, but would prefer to paddle in the whitewater kayak’s stable, packable sister: the Packraft. This one day course will teach you everything you need to know about packrafting.
A Day in the Duo

This is a great way to get your “feet wet” in the whitewater kayaking world. Our guide will give you an exciting run in the duo, allowing you to understand the basics of moving water. This is a fun safe way to experience the river!

Are you interested in whitewater kayaking? This 5 day course will get you through the basics and more! Based in central Utah, this course will introduce you to the excitement of being a whitewater kayaker in a safe and supportive environment. Each day will be spent learning paddling skills on the water, we will start with flat-water basics and progress through class II/III water. The course will cover river equipment, paddling skills, basic river hydrology, and river safety. End of course will include a field trip to south-central Utah and will be taught on the Green River & Colorado River.
Meet the Team
Your Adventure Consultants will be Shannon Finch & Megan Boyer. Both have extensive backgrounds in whitewater kayak instruction & adventure travel, and have instructor certifications through the American Canoe Association. Megan has been teaching whitewater courses and leading adventures for 25+ years. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to everything water and her attention to detail and ability to customize instruction for each individual student allows students to progress in a manner that is right for them. Shannon fell in love with the river as a young child and has been teaching kayaking around the western United States for 10+ years. She is passionate about sharing knowledge and believes that the learning and the adventure need to be safe, but should also be fun! Both Megan & Shannon have found joy in sharing river knowledge with students from around the world.
